MUSIC 2111 - PRINCIPLES OF RESEARCH AND BIBLIOGRAPHY Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is for all first-year graduate students, and introduces them systematically to the significant research and reference methods and their resulting tools within all major categories and formats of music research and publication. It treats music research as a unified field in which the major disciplines—historical musicology, ethnomusicology, theory/analysis and composition—necessarily interact to inform the most productive and significant results, even for narrowly defined research topics.
