LING 2738 - LINGUISTIC STRUCTURES OF ENGLISH Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is a “nuts and bolts” description of the lexical and syntactic structures of English. An attempt will be made to provide students with a thorough grounding in traditional grammar, while, at the same time, presenting insights and explanations from a transformational-generative perspective. The class is designed for English language teachers- either those who are teaching it in American school systems or those who wish to teach EFL. Lecture format with class discussion.
