NUR 1060 - NURSING CARE OF CLIENTS WITH PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS Minimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 This course is designed to teach basic psychiatric mental health nursing concepts and their application to clinical practice. Classroom learning is focused on developmental, psychological, and biological theories in order to enhance understanding of psychiatric illness. Major psychiatric illnesses throughout the lifespan as well as contemporary methods of treatment are addressed. Emphasis is placed on understanding the unique contributions of social and cultural factors to mental health.
