RELGST 0083 - MYTHOLOGY IN THE ANCIENT WORLDMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course introduces students to some of the dominant themes we see in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Some of these themes include: God, creation, covenant, revelation, prophecy, wisdom, fertility, social justice, and ritual. We consider the development and function of each theme in its social and historical context across the biblical canon, comparing and contrasting how these ideas reiterate basic biblical concepts. The primary text is the Bible itself with secondary readings providing background and context. Academic Career: Undergraduate Course Component: Lecture Grade Component: LG/SNC Elective Basis
