PSY 1514 - EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The relevance of Darwinian Theory to the study of anatomy and physiology has been obvious for many decades. Only recently however, have evolutionists begun to focus their explanatory tools on cognition, motivation, emotion, perception, and "mind". This course will examine the rationale, contributions, failures and future of evolutionary approaches to psychological phenomena. Initial lectures on the status of Evolutionary Theory will prepare the students for the discussion and evaluation of evolutionary psychology that will follow.
