PS 1512 - EUROPE AFTER COLD WAR:COOPERATION AND CONFLICTMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course attempts to provide a coherent interpretation of the USSR's foreign policy in the period from 1918 to 1987. Major topics include Soviet foreign policy toward (1) Western Europe and the USE; (2) former "colonial" countries in Asia, the MFA Middle East and Africa; (3) the "socialist" states including the Chinese people's republic. Particular stress is given to the international political context of the USSR's actions and to the soviet leader ship's interpretation of the international environment.
