SPAN 1602 - IBERIAN REGIONAL IDENTITIESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 No other courses deal with Iberia from a transnational or regional standpoint. It is becoming increasingly relevant, particularly in the European context, to articulate the study of culture in relationship to new forms of political and communitarian identities, thus moving away from the traditional focus on the nation-state. The present course will examine the cultural, political, and economic role of the regions within the Iberian peninsula in shaping the European and trans-Atlantic components of both Spanish and Portuguese history.
