HIST 1431 - HISTORY OF JAPAN TO 1868Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course surveys the history of Japan from the earliest beginnings to 1868. It is concerned with the creation of the Yamato state, the influence of Chinese institutions, the emergence of warrior rule, and the consolidation of power under the Tokugawa Shoguns.
