HIST 1121 - TUDOR ENGLANDMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The Tudor period - the age of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I is generally looked upon as a Golden Age of English culture. It was also a period of considerable social and political change when, under the impact of the Renaissance and reformation, as well as an economic revolution, the traditional medieval world gave way to one which was recognizably modern. Shakespeare's Hamlet, Bacon's advancement of learning all emerge from this culture. This was also the century during which London came to control the destinies of Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
