GER 1528 - VIENNAMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Viennese culture in the age of modernism anticipates crucial issues, concerns, and debates of our time. The present lecture series introduces students to the multifaceted Viennese developments in art, literature, music, philosophy, and science from the late nineteenth century to World War II. Among the major figures discussed in this course are: Mach, Wittgenstein, Freud, Schnitzler, Kraus, Klimt, Schiele, Loos, Schonberg, Alban Berg. Readings are in English.
