GER 1242 - PEACE/MILITARISM IN GERMAN CULTUREMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Using literary and non-literary documents, this course examines the perception of peace and war in German culture since the 19th century. The historical approach provides the framework for understanding such diverse issues as the specific structure of the (West-)German armed forces, the strong peace movements and the debate on Germany's role in today's international security system.
