GER 1220 - LITERATURE AND CULTURE 1750-1830Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course reviews one of the most famous and exciting periods of German literature: a period of great social and intellectual upheavals, of sentimental novels and revolutionary plays, of classical poems and folk tales, when an admired poet became an influential politician, and rebellious women wrote even though they were not supposed to. Students will read some of the classics of German literature, and learn about the historical context of these works. All primary readings and class discussions are in German.
