FILMST 1145 - SOUND FOR FILM AND VIDEOMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Beginning with the basic principles of sound, the course will examine the problems of converting sound to an electrical analogy, processing it and storing it magnetically. Particular emphasis will be placed on the special problems associated with motion picture sound; intelligibility in voice reproduction, achieving and maintaining synchronism, academy standards, optical recording, 16 mm multi-track production methods and the relationship between voice, music, sound effects and story.
