BIOSC 1005 - INTRODUCTION TO BIOCHEMISTRY LABMinimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 This course will guide students through a common experimental approach that is used in academic and industry research labs. In the first part of the semester, students will clone genes that have been selected because they are new genes of interest to research labs within the department. In the second part of the semester, students will express their cloned genes and purify the encoded proteins. They will use computer analysis to predict possible functions of their proteins and then test their hypotheses using biochemical techniques.
