ADMPS 2114 - DISABILITY LAW AND SOCIETY

Course provides in-depth study of the legal rights of persons with disabilities based on three federal statutes: individuals with disabilities education act (idea); rehabilitation act of 1973 (section 504); & Americans with disabilities act of 1990 (ADA). Focusing upon topics as discrimination in employment, public accommodations, & access to tele communication, course should be helpful to administrators, teachers, social workers, rehabilitation counselors, occupational & physical therapists, nurses & other professionals. Meets the school law requirement for state certification.
