ANTH 1795 - SHAMANISM HEALING SPIRIT POSSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Shamanism is a phenomenon that has been the focus of intensive anthropological investigation since the birth of the discipline. It has also been a topic that has helped to define key theoretical issues in the field. In this course we will use shamanism, broadly defined, as medium through which to study anthropological theory. The course is designed as a reading intensive seminar, and one of the objectives is to teach students how to read and think critically.
