HAA 1810 - EXPERIMENTAL VIDEOMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course will examine a variety of new uses of video as a means of individual artistic expression. The course does not include commercial broadcast or cable television, or music television". The course begins with the early experiments and video sculptures of the 1960s. Topics will include the use of video by performance artists, and video works which use computer technology to create abstract imagery. Consideration will be given to single channel tapes and to three-dimensional video "installations". Comparisons will be made with other contemporary art forms."
