NROSCI 1031 - PSYCHTRC DISORDERS & BRN FUNCNMinimum Credits: 4 Maximum Credits: 4 This is an honors course that examines the neurobiological bases of psychiatric disturbances (schizophrenia, depression, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy). The first portion presents an overview of basics in neuropharmacology, with an emphasis on recent findings of relevance to psychiatric dis orders. The second portion consists of lectures centering around the anatomical, physiological, and neurochemical basis for specific psychiatric disturbances, and around the mechanism of action of therapeutic drugs.
