NROSCI 1015 - PHYSIOLOGY & CHEMISTRY NEURONSMinimum Credits: 5 Maximum Credits: 5 The first part of this course will cover the electrical properties of nerve cells and of neuronal communication. The topics to be addressed include the resting potential, voltage- and neurotransmitter-dependent ion channels, action potential generation, and fast synaptic transmission. The second half of the course will examine the chemical processes involved in communication between neurons and their targets.
