SOC 0610 - SOCIOLOGY OF MENTAL HEALTHMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description This course examines how social forces shape mental health, including how identities and systemic inequalities impact mental health outcomes, experiences of diagnosis and treatment, and access to care. Drawing on sociological theory and research, students explore contemporary issues such as stress, stigma, and disparities in mental health care, and develop a critical understanding of mental health as both a personal and social experience.
