ENGWRT 1570 - ENVIRONMENTAL WRITINGMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description This course, a multi-genre exploration of writing about the environment, invites students to consider the living world in all its beauty, complexity, and peril. Students will read contemporary writing on the environment-nonfiction, fiction, and poetry-what some have termed "New Nature Writing," as well as look at/listen to art made about the living world. In kind, they'll write in multiple genres: nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. Through a series of experiential learning opportunities, students will engage with and nourish their relationship to the living world. In conversation with other writers and artists, they'll cultivate their own distinctly personal encounters as they shape images, narratives, arguments.
