SA 0160 - PRINT STUDIO: PAINTERLY PRINTSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description In this course, students investigate the technical, aesthetic, and conceptual aspects of printmaking through processes centered in monoprint/monotype and other supplemental print media techniques. Using traditional and expanded hand-pulled methods, including additive and subtractive mark-making, layering, registration, and transfer-based approaches, students explore printmaking as an indirect, process-driven mode of image making. Emphasis is placed on understanding how materials, sequencing, and decision-making shape visual outcomes. Through the creation of unique prints and small series, students develop skills in planning, experimentation, revision, and critical reflection. Instruction is supported by demonstrations, guided practice, discussion, and ongoing feedback, encouraging students to build confidence with printmaking tools, workflows, and studio habits.
