FMST 0807 - HAND-DRAWN ANIMATIONMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description Hand-Drawn Animation is a practice-based class that explores animation as an art of life and motion. Over the course of the semester, students will develop an understanding of how to create the illusion of motion, volume, and mass in animation and learn the basics of personality and character-based animation. We will do this through screening a variety of animated films and doing in-class exercises. Students will learn and use traditional and digital tools from all parts of the animation pipeline including storyboarding, animation, compositing, editing, and sound design. No prior animation experience is necessary but students should be comfortable drawing. This class is a Category III elective in the Film and Media Studies major and minor, and a Technical Elective in the Production Track.
