PSY 1240 - SPORT PSYCHOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description This course addresses the theoretical, research and practical psychological applications involved in the field of sport psychology. Topics include personality, motivation, performance psychology, team dynamics and cohesion, psychological skills (i.e., imagery, self-confidence, concentration, stress and anxiety management), clinical issues in sport psychology, youth sports, athletic and performance retirement, and psychological aspects of athletic injuries and rehabilitation (i.e., antecedents and psychological responses to athletic injury, psychological interventions with athletic injury, and returning to sport after athletic injury).
