ENGFLM 1548 - AMERICAN INDEPENDENT FILMMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description This course examines the development in the U.S. of independently produced film as an art form, and the filmmaker as an artist, from World War II to the present with a consideration of exploitation film through to Miramax and how the industry changed once the independent companies were bought by the major conglomerates. This critical studies course counts for the Film and Media Studies major and minor as a Category 2 elective.
