BQOM 3025 - MARKET DESIGNMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description In this course we will examine how prices can coordinate markets. There is a deep literature on how to set prices, rooted traditionally in Economics but which has expanded across multiple fields including Operations Management, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, and Computer Science. The course will be divided into two halves. In the first half of this course, we will explore some foundational models of pricing in operations management, with an emphasis on practical and computational aspects of setting prices. In the second half of the course, we will examine some emerging research, with an emphasis on recent papers related to how changing price structures can affect market outcomes.
