Minimum Credits: 3
Maximum Credits: 3
Long Description This course introduces core concepts, tools, and techniques in modern data science. Students will learn how to import, tidy, transform, visualize, and merge data, as well as how to build, tune, and evaluate a range of machine learning models. Throughout the course, Python and a suite of powerful open-source libraries will be used to solve real-world data science problems. Tools covered include Jupyter Notebook for creating reproducible reports; NumPy for data structures; pandas for data wrangling; matplotlib and seaborn for data visualization; scikit-learn for data preprocessing and machine learning; and SciPy, TensorFlow, and Keras for advanced modeling. By the end of the course, students will have hands-on experience working through the full data analysis pipeline and producing polished, reproducible results.
