FMST 1855 - DIRECTING MOTION PICTURESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description This course addresses some of the basic strategies of designing and directing scenes for motion pictures. Some of the issues discussed are the relationship of film to reality, the meaning of cinematic techniques, continuity, shot selection, cut selection and visualization techniques. The format is a combination of lecture, screening and interactive group exercises. It is recommended but not required that students complete FMST 0800 before taking this course. This course counts as a Technical Elective and a Category III elective in the Film and Media Studies Minor or Production Track.
