ENGLIT 1010 - MAGICAL NATURE BEFORE THE MODERN WORLDMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description What does it mean to believe that natural world has agency, or to await supernatural intervention in the ordinary course of events? This course examines the varied ways people imagined the natural world in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. We will attend to both the literary qualities of writings about the natural world and their historical, religious, and political contexts.
