LCJS 1550 - GENDER, RACE, CLASS AND CRIMINAL JUSTICEMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description Gender, race and class are overlapping categories of experience that affect all aspects of life. This course examines relationship of the criminal justice system with these categories of experience. Using intersectional analysis, we analyze and evaluate theoretical approaches and data that seek to explain how gender, race, and class affect the workings of the criminal justice system, and in turn, how the criminal justice system affects symbolic and material inequality based on these social categories.
