BUSFIN 1329 - INVESTMENTS ANALYSIS & STRATEGIESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Long Description The objective of this course is to provide the student with a thorough practical and theoretical exposure in the field of securities markets with a focus on the credit segment. The course has substantial experience-based learning content and requires the student to work on the Bloomberg Terminals available in the Financial Analysis Laboratory located in 201 Mervis Hall. The course covers the major topics of bond pricing, international markets, term structure of interest rates, duration, convexity and their implications for portfolio management, interest rate models, asset-backed securities, interest rate derivatives and credit risk analysis. The course is intended for students who are preparing for the CFA Program exams. Real-world examples will be given to make connections with the theoretical framework. In this course, you will have the opportunity to manage a hypothetical fixed-income portfolio and work in groups on multiple team projects. All projects will be administered in the Bloomberg environment.
