ANTH 2539 - BASIC ARCHAEOLOGICAL LABORATORY METHODSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 In this course we focus on learning basic laboratory techniques in archaeology. Field techniques are the primary means by which archaeologists acquire data. Laboratory techniques consist of methods for the coding and analysis of data. We will not emphasize statistical techniques, but rather practical experience in basic methods for the analysis of lithic, ceramic, and other archaeological materials. We will also place especial emphasis on research design, synthesis of data, and interpretation of results.
