PEDENT 5801 - COMMUNITY OUTREACH EXPERIENCES WITH VULNERABLE POPULATIONS

This course will provide community outreach opportunities for students interested in gaining experiences working with vulnerable populations. Faculty from SDM and community center coordinators of the Pittsburgh area will communicate with the course director and present dates of potential volunteering options. Students, when available, will be teaching individuals of the community about the foundation and importance of oral health habits and increasing oral health literacy. This course will assist students in treating vulnerable patients by practicing effective communication and education on healthy oral habits.
