VIET 0105 - VIETNAMESE 5Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Vietnamese 5 is intended for students who have completed Vietnamese 4 (VIET 0104). This course aims at advancing students' abilities in writing and speaking as well as reading about Vietnamese culture and society, and incorporates texts from a variety of journalistic and literary sources. Students have the opportunity to read Vietnamese popular classics, poetry, and contemporary Vietnamese literature. Students participate in classroom discussions of assignments. Oral presentations, Quizzes, and Tests are required. Class attendance and participation are required. By the end of this course, students will have a greater understanding of the cultures, history, ways of life, and religions of Vietnam, and will be able to participate in discussions on these topics, and compose essays on these topics in Vietnamese.
