CHIN 0006 - CHINESE FOR HERITAGE SPEAKERSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 CHIN0006 is a course designed for students with a Chinese heritage language background and those whose speaking proficiency is at the intermediate level whereas their reading/writing proficiency is at the novice level. Students with an upbringing or long-term exposure to spoken Chinese language use can take this course to develop their literacy skills and to gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture. The course also aims to help students further develop their oral and socio-cultural communication skills so that they can conduct communication in all three modes (interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational) at a higher proficiency level. Students will be immersed in Chinese language and culture through the integration of cultural knowledge and language learning.
