This course will consist of various applications of microeconomics in the field of Industrial Organization. The field of Industrial Organization focuses on the conduct of firms as implied by the competitive structure of the market in which they operate and the welfare implication of such conduct. Several dimensions of firm conduct are addressed, including various pricing mechanisms, product mix selection, advertising strategies, internal organization of the firm, and the implication of asymmetry of information on firm behavior and market outcomes.
