Economic events shape global policy and strategic decision making for businesses. These factors drive overall national economic activity, movements in major macroeconomic variables, especially interest rates and exchange rates, and influence the performance of national and global financial markets. A keen understanding of the 'macro'-economic environment is key to analyzing such factors. The course will introduce students to the empirical analysis of the growth forces by providing numerous hands-on opportunities using real-world data. The students are expected to build a thorough econometric analysis using available World Bank Data to determine elements that are responsible for driving growth and advancement. This will enable students to handle cross-country panel data sets, visualize data, perform descriptive analysis, create econometric model specifications that requires comprehensive statistical analysis and interpret results that would help readers gain deeper insight.
