COUN 2748 - EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE AND RESEARCH METHODS IN COUNSELING

This course prepares students to be competent counselors who utilize evidence-based practice in their clinical practice. Students will learn to (1) understand the basic statistical and methodological concepts that underlie clinical research, (2) understanding ethical and cultural considerations in research, (3) understand the rationale for using evidence-based practice, (4) use guidelines for determining acceptable evidence, (5); (6) effectively communicate with clients regarding evidence-based practice, and (7) create program evaluation plans.
