BUSBIS 1530 - TECHNICAL FOUNDATIONS OF GENERATIVE AI FOR BUSINESSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is part of the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business" curriculum at Pitt Business. The course is designed to equip business students with technical concepts, skills, and understanding necessary to harness the capabilities of generative AI systems. A key learning objective is to gain proficiency in using cloud-computing platforms, application programming interfaces (APIs), transformer architectures, and large language models. Students will build on the data programming skills learned in the pre-requisite courses and will utilize cloud computing and APIs to access large language models and generative AI interfaces for processing and generating text and multimedia content for business workflows. Throughout the course, students will engage with hands-on labs and projects, enabling them to build and fine-tune generative AI applications. To do well in this course, students must be prepared to engage in intensive out-of-class practice sessions based on the topics, examples, and techniques introduced in class sessions.
