DENT 5924 - CLINICAL DENTISTRY FOR PATIENTS WITH SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This is a clinical selective course offered to fourth-year dental students that wish to gain additional hands-on experience treating Patients with Special Healthcare Needs. The time commitment is one clinic session per week for one semester. The selective student will typically function as the primary care provider for patients with varying degrees of Special Healthcare Needs, often including treatment of patients who are receiving various forms of sedation. The student will also be responsible for all discussions and communications with the patient and/or family members/caregivers of these patients.
