MSBMS 2105 - BMP SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONMinimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 The Scientific Communication course will explore the different ways science is described and communicated. Topics will include methods and techniques for efficient and clear scientific writing; the different types of publications (research papers, reviews, abstracts, letters, commentaries); the structure and organization of grants (especially research and fellowships); scientific posters and presentations, and peer review. The class will include presentation by faculty to introduce the most important concepts. Students will use their own research (current or past) as a basis for writing assignments on the various topics. Students will also review each other's work and significant time will be devoted to discussion, both in class and online.
