HPS 2710 - HISTORY OF PSYCHIATRYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This seminar course will study the history of psychiatry using an integrated history and philosophy of science approach. We will explore ideas and practices in psychiatric research and clinical psychiatry. Topics may include: psychiatry and the asylum, mental disorder and normality, Freudian psychoanalysis, biological psychiatry, the DSM, and the relationship between psychiatry and medicine.
