COUN 2726 - SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ADDICTIONS COUNSELINGMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is an introduction to substance abuse counseling. The expected student outcomes of the course include: develop understanding of substance use disorders; develop evidence-based addiction counseling competencies; and increase competence in providing substance abuse evaluation, education, and treatment services. Students are introduced to the theories of etiology and intervention for alcohol and substance use, abuse, and addiction. Students explore community resources proving substance use intervention.
