DSANE 5344 - MEDICAL EMERGENCIES - WISER CENTER

In this course, students will apply skills and knowledge in order to manage the most commonly occurring medical emergencies that may occur in the dental office. Using simulated scenarios, emphasis will be placed on airway management, medication use, emergency drug kit usage, and recognition and management of medical emergencies. Students will also acquire the experience of a team approach to responding to emergency events. This course will be offered in conjunction with the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education & Research (WISER, www.wiser.pitt.edu).
