PSY 0011 - INTRODUCTION TO THE FIELDMinimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 This one-credit course is designed for newly declared psychology majors. Course content will provide an introduction to the psychology department, a review of experiential learning opportunities, a discussion of graduate school and career options including subfields within psychology and related fields, and out of the classroom exercises. Through lectures, guest speakers, in-class exercises, small group discussions and written assignments, students will engage in self-assessment, undertake academic and career planning, develop professional skills and learn to utilize available resources to advance in their careers. Academic Career: Undergraduate Course Component: Seminar Grade Component: Satisfactory/No Credit Course Requirements: Restricted to PSY majors with fewer than 85 credits.
