PS 1202 - AMERICAN CONSTITUTIONAL LAWMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course will serve as an in-depth introduction to the study of constitutional law. The class work and discussions will focus on the development and evolution of the law relating to the powers of each branch of government, the checks and balances limiting those powers and the rights of individuals protected by amendments to the Constitution. Students will be responsible for reading and being able to discuss court decisions addressing major constitutional issues confronted by government and society as a whole. Class members will also be encouraged to identify and discuss factors that may impact judicial decision making, such as current events, political forces, judges backgrounds and historical events.
