ENGLIT 1135 - LITERATURE, MEDIA, AND SCIENCE IN THE AGE OF SHAKESPEAREMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course will introduce students to the broad range of styles, genres, and concerns of literature written in English in the early modern period, particularly the 17th century. The designation "early modern" is capacious enough to straddle the renaissance as well as the early enlightenment. Readings could include English writers, writers from the Americas, and writers who composed in English but wrote about countries other than England, Ireland or new England.
