ENGFLM 1680 - ANIMATION STUDIESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course surveys the history of animation, both American and international. Providing an understanding of animation's history, technologies, and stylistic possibilities across national and international boundaries, the course will consider early animators through to contemporary uses of digital technologies with their fully realized characters inhabiting three-dimensional space. It will also have a thematic organization, focusing at times on specific techniques (e.g., cel animation) and styles (e.g., abstract). This is a Critical Studies course and counts for Category II towards the Film and Media Studies major and minor.
