In Swedish 8 students will continue to practice understanding, speaking, reading, and writing Swedish, stylistically focusing on adding more formal grammar and lexicon. At this highest level of Swedish offered, students can expect to improve their fluency to a point where they would feel comfortable living, continuing their studies, and working in Sweden. Textbook readings will be centered around the following themes; the history of family in Sweden, Vikings and their beliefs vs religion today, life in the workforce-understanding Swedish codes, comparing (learning) languages and code switching, and Sweden in the world. A variety of other supplemental materials will maximize exposure to many different styles and genres.
