PS 1216 - MODERN CIVIL RIGHTS IN AMERICAN POLITICSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 In this class, we will analyze several major areas of civil rights in American politics from the 20th century until the present day. Our primary case studies will be disability rights, women's rights, Black civil rights, and LGBT rights. For each of these topics, we will detail the role of the political parties, coalitions, mass activism, and the judiciary in the expansion of civil rights.
